Steps to Salvation

Your not here by accident. God loves you. He wants to have a personal relationship with you through Jesus, his Son. The only thing that separates you from God, is sin.

The Bible describes sin in many way, most simply, sin is our failure to measure up to God’s holiness and His righteous standards. We sin by things we do, choices we make, attitudes we show, and thoughts we entertain. The Bible affirms our own experience – “there is non righteous, not even one.” People tend to divide themselves into groups – good people and bad people.  God says that ever person who has ever lived is a sinner, and that any sin separates us from God.

Receiving eternal life is as simple as ABC.
A: you must admit that you have sinned and turn to Jesus. Life doesn’t change until we realize we are going in the wrong direction. This Bible calls this repentance. The Bible says,
“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of god.” Romans 3:23

It goes on to say, “There is none righteous, no, not one.” Romans 3:10 And Romans 6:23 points out, “For the wages of sin is death.” To be a believer is to admit we are going in the wrong direction and turn to Jesus to repent from our sins.

B: Believe now. In John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.”  To believe is to place one’s trust and confidence in Jesus. And putting the trust and confidence in Jesus is the acknowledgement that Jesus died for us, rose again, and that He alone can get us into heaven when we die.

Satan knows all the right set of facts about God, and he even trembles from the name of Jesus, but he isn’t going to be in Heaven. You can know all the right facts about God and still die in your sins. The Bible says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9  Salvation is a gift from God, we can do nothing to earn or merit eternal life. The forgiveness of our sins is received through faith in Jesus and trusting in Him with our lives.

C: Thirdly, we must confess Christ as our Lord. To confess Christ is to make a commitment to follow Him as your Lord and Savior. Romans 10:9 says, “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” In Romans 10:13, “For whoever calls on you asked him to forgive you of your sins?

If you desire to admit that you have sinned and want to turn to Jesus. Believe that Jesus died on the cross from your sins. You desire to confess Christ as your Lord and Savior and you desire to receive him, We want to invite you to call out to God and He will save you. Simply say this prayer:
“Lord Jesus, I admit I have sinned
and I admit I have sinned,  I
repent of my sins and I turn to
you in faith. I believe in you,
Jesus, that you died on the cross
for my sins, that you rose again on the third day. I trust you for salvation. I confess you as my Lord and Savior.
I commit my life to you from this day forward. Thank you for saving me. Fill me with your Holy Spirit that I might walk with you. In Christ name I pray. Amen.”

If you have said that prayer, we would like to talk more with you. Simply email us here at prayerrequest@wabchwh or westacresbaptist@outlook.com and let us know a way to contact you. We want to invite you to our church.
